Around Here

Ben had to get a sink bath after pooping in the bath tub yet again:)

We had some nice weather.

We went to a candy store and Avery was in heaven.

Ben has been scooting around.

We had dinner at Gigi and Pepaw's new house.

St. Patrick's Day was Sunday.  We had brunch downtown.

Little man in a new hat.

Avery being a little teacher.

Ben is holding his bottle pretty well.

He is also picking up finger foods.  We've been giving him part of what we're having for dinner when possible.  Here, he's having peas, chicken, and noodles from chicken noodle soup.

Rob and I have had colds this week but the kids seem ok, fortunately.

Scoots

Ben's new nickname.

He has found a way to get around!  He scoots around to get where or what he wants!

He wanted that piece of paper so badly.

He still refuses to be on his stomach at all (if you put him on his stomach he immediately rolls over) so I'm not sure if he'll crawl.    Either way, he'll get there!

Our Weekend

In pictures.

I'm too tired to think of much of anything else.

A & B with their St Patrick's Day headbands from Gigi.

Practicing the innocent look

Heading home from a baby shower

Sunday we stayed in our pjs most of the day.
What else can I get out?

Got the Easter stuff out

Trying prunes

Just relaxing

Rob was on call and tied to the phone and computer so we didn't get out to do much of anything fun.  We did go to a baby shower on Saturday and I escaped to Summer's birthday party Saturday night.  Other than that, we stayed around the house!

These Days

Hit the ground running.

Feed and dress and change and sometimes change again (Ben!) and hair (she requests bwaids lately) and no, you cannot watch tv until you get dressed.

Smoothies and grab lunch and bottles, extra clothes (Ben!), jackets and kisses and out the door (how late will I be today?!).

Lunchtime brings errands and groceries and diapers and-oh yeah-I need a present for (insert party, shower, holiday).

Fight the traffic and race to pick up the loves.  Listen to Avery's stories about her day-who said what and what was for lunch and if they got to play outside and what letter they talked about.

Try to get dinner ready while pleasing a baby that wants attention and putting off a 3 year old that needs a band-aid, glue, a vitamin, help getting a princess dress on.

Then it's clean-up and bath and bottle and whew! one down, one to go.

Another bath-sometimes together if the timing works-and pjs and books and a drink of water and back rub and wait! you forgot my socks.

Off to the gym.

Get back, change out the laundry.

Oh yeah-Arthur wants in. And is hungry.

Pick up and put away all the things.

Make bottles and lunch.  Food for Ben.  Maybe prep dinner for the next day.  Start dishwasher.

Lay out clothes for the next day.

Oh yeah, I need to read a couple chapters and write a paper, too (always looming).

Laundry.

Crash.

Wake up and do it all again.

Anyone else feel like they're in a constant rat race?!

Ugh.

Don't get me wrong-I love my life and I'm grateful for it.  I just wish things could slow down a bit.

Or I could get a housekeeper.

Weekend Happenings

Ben is starting to hold his own bottle...when he feels like it.  I took him to the doctor yesterday for a rash covering his back.  His doctor thinks it is a cow's milk protein allergy from the formula.  So we're trying soy formula to see if his skin improves over the next two weeks.  If not we will have to do some food allergy testing.  So we'll see how that goes.

Avery had randomly asked to go to the bowling alley a couple of times, so Saturday we dropped Ben at  Gigi and Pepaw's and took A on a special date to the bowling alley.  Little did we know there was a tournament taking up all the lanes.  I felt so bad for her because she was so excited to go bowling.   We told her we'd take her to Cherry Berry (and bowling again soon) and she was happy with that.

Avery had some fun playing around at Gigi and Pepaw's with their fun toys.

I just can't help but take pictures of this little ham.

Sunday we went furniture shopping. The kids were great.  We were pleasantly surprised (not that they're not normally good but FURNITURE SHOPPING).

Worn out

We were all worn out after a few hours.  But we found some new living room furniture so it was worth it.

We salvaged a couple of hours at the end of the day for some playtime outside.

We're ready for spring weather now so we can spend more time outside!
