Last Week

In celebration of Dr Seuss week/St. Patrick's Day:

Dress like Dad:

Wear green:

Dress tropical:

Wear green and pockets:

Avery had tons of fun at school last week.  They enjoyed green eggs and ham, had their room turned upside down by a leprechaun, went in search of said leprechaun, and saw the principal kiss a pig at the pep rally.

We've had some nice weather and been able to enjoy time outside.

Ben's hair is growing like a chia pet!  After a bath or shower it's super curly and fun to style.  There's an unofficial poll going on in our family regarding whether it's time for a trim or not (I'm hanging in the "not" camp for at least a while longer).

More Snow(ish) Days!

We had a couple more snow days last week where school was actually canceled, but without much snow to show for it.  It was the first two snow days that our district has used this year, so hopefully the kids still get out a few days earlier than planned.  There was lots of tv and snuggle time!

The kids went back to school on Friday, and that morning was Mornings with Mom.  I asked Avery if she wanted Ben to come too, with the understanding that I might not be able to stay as long.  Of course she wanted him to come ("you have to give him a chance"). Ben was super excited to go to school.  He had to wear his packpack.  Inside?  Ducky, Duckling, and Other One Duck.

It was also pajama day, hence the nightgown.  Avery was being difficult and would not take a regular picture.  And Ben couldn't be bothered to put down the cinnamon roll.  So this is as good as it gets.

After we left school Ben and I went shopping with Mimi.  Ben was so good we rewarded him with bbq...ok, and ourselves too.

The kiddos stayed at Mimi's since Rob and I had plans on Friday and Saturday night (unusual for us!).  Sunday, Avery and I went to a baseball-themed baby shower where Avery ate her weight in peanuts.

This week at Avery's school they are continuing to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Stay tuned for updated pics!

Goodbye, February

February went out with an icy blast this past weekend.  I say GOOD RIDDANCE although we made the best of it.  Snow started Friday afternoon and kept up through the evening and into Saturday.

Ben simply couldn't wrap his head around being outside and NOT playing with his wheels.  He really tried to make it work but I don't think his tires were made for snow.  He got super frustrated with his trike in particular.

Avery is my little snow bunny.  She loves being out in it.

We had some friends over Friday night and the kids had a great time trying on my heels.

Saturday and Sunday consisted of movies, playing outside, icicle testing, and even a little backyard sledding.

Ben didn't like sledding (only got him to go down one time) but didn't mind giving his sister a push.

Of course we found ways to warm up (Olaf's Warm Hug Vanilla Milk and of course the fireplace).

The kids alternated between pajamas and snow clothes (the same ones) all weekend, which kept laundry down!!

Hopefully we've seen the last of old man winter!
