Halloween Week

Started Monday with costumes at dance class.

Tuesday we went to the open house at Mimi's work.

Today the kids get to trick-or-treat at school.  I had one very excited Little Mermaid this morning.

And one not-so-happy Charlie Brown.

The fun continues at my office this afternoon and trick-or-treating in the neighborhood this evening!

Boomer Sooner!

We took Avery to Norman last Saturday.  It was homecoming and alumni weekend.  Even though it rained most of the day we had so much fun catching up with friends at the tailgates!

There were lots of little girls to play with.

At one point it rained pretty hard and the girls got in the car to watch a movie.

I took Avery to the south oval to show her a bit of campus.  She loved all the flowers and thought they were a maze.  She thought the library looked like a castle and the classrooms in Dale Hall looked like a movie theatre.

It was getting late by the time we left campus, so we just stopped by the AXO house but didn't go in.

We finished watching the game at Bison Witches. Avery was not a fan of the loud cheering.  She has a lot to learn about football!

Our week

Started with "bring your favorite book" day on Monday.

And dance class.

Ben is figuring out the spoon.

He also watched Avery and figured out the whistle.

Sometimes she looks like a complete ragamuffin when I pick her up from school.
And we had to stop at Target...

We start them young.

Baby Shower, Pumpkin Patch, & Brisky

Busy weekend around here.

On Saturday I took Ben to a baby shower.

He thoroughly enjoyed himself at the shower.

Saying "hi" to baby Will.

We met Rob and Avery back at Gigi and Pepaw's and watched the rest of the OU game.  Ben was pretty happy to see his sister.  He couldn't get enough hugs.

On Sunday we took the kids to the pumpkin patch.  The weather was beautiful and they enjoyed running around.  Avery took $1, which she said was to "pay a pumpkin."

We also had our annual brisket dinner on Sunday! It was Ben's first year to partake in the food, and I think he enjoyed it.  He was partial to the mashed potatoes (naturally) and didn't care too much for the macaroni and cheese (crazy).  Both the kids prefer regular, boxed Annie's or Kraft macaroni and cheese over fancy macaroni and cheese-more for us.

Fleming's mac & cheese, loaded mashed potatoes,
green beans, & brisket.

Ugh, I was miserable the rest of the evening, but it was so delicious!

The not-so-bright spot of the day: we had to say goodbye to Lynn and Will.  They're moving to south Texas today and we probably won't see them for a while. We will definitely miss them.  Avery consoled me by pointing out "we can just talk on the phone."

True. I guess.
