Pool Time

Hello! We had a great weekend. Lunch Saturday with Shannon, Gina, and Stephen at The Brook. Afterward we headed over to Rocky and Mindy's for some pool time. Avery stayed inside until there was some shade, then I sat on the side and dipped her legs in. She was pretty ambivalent about the whole thing. There are some cute pictures of her in her bathing suit that will not be published on the www due to the presence of my thunder thighs. Apparently the photographer (cough cough Rob) did not realize that my thunder thighs would completely thwart the picture. UGH. Off to start my lettuce diet...

Road Trip, Father's Day, and Back to the Grind

Avery's first road trip! We went to Norman yesterday afternoon for an engagement party for our friends Heath and Jamie. She was pretty good and only cried in the car for a total of about 15 minutes. Before the party we met up with Katie and Shannon on campus corner. Katie just graduated from the police academy!

And of course we had to stop by the old stomping grounds for a photo op in honor of Avery's first trip to Norman.

Avery, maybe one day Dad will tell you about the shenanigans that went on in that house behind you...

Happy first Father's Day, Rob! Thanks for being a great husband and dad!

And it's back to work (from home) for me tomorrow:( It's great that I get to work from home for 6 weeks but I must admit I'm not exactly thrilled to start back.

What do these things have in common? They were all being laundered around 11 last night due to being majorly spit up on by Avery. I don't know what the deal was but she was spitting up in large quantities. Maybe she ate too much? She seems fine today.

Took her to a baby shower at work and then to lunch with Uncle Stephen today. No big plans for the weekend. Hope everyone has a great one. A couple pictures from this week.

5 Weeks!

Doctor and New Friends

Took Avery to the doctor today for her one month checkup. Everything is good.

Weight: 9 lbs 6.5 oz
Length: 22 inches

So I had an idea that Rob and I should make a wager. We would each guess her weight before the appointment and whoever was closer would owe the other lunch. My guess-8 lbs 12 oz. His-9 lbs 6 oz. Clearly he won. A half-ounce off. A little suspicious, no? I think he found a way to cheat but I can't prove it...yet.

Saturday I took Avery to meet her great aunts and some other family. After eating we hung out by my aunt Marilyn's pool. Avery was hardly set down all day.

1 Month

One month. Time has flown by. It really has as cliche as it sounds. Can't believe that one month ago today I was immobilized in a hospital bed with this brand new little cone head. We really are lucky to have not only a healthy baby but one that is cute and pretty easygoing to boot.

Rob said she woke up in a fantastic mood this morning. The other night when he was gone...I think she sensed that we were a man down and hence more vulnerable. She didn't want to go back to sleep after her middle of the night feeding.

Some things of note in honor of of the one month mark:

-One month of breastfeeding down. Hoping to make it several more. Judging by the little rolls forming on her arms and legs I guess it's working alright.

-She loves walks and riding in the car. Just keep it moving!

-She enjoys baths

-We go through an insane amount of diapers

-We are not as sleep deprived as we expected to be (but we have a pretty good sleeper)

-Arthur has finally calmed down and is no longer overly concerned with her

-Spit-up stains if not pre-treated

-The mayor of Owasso has deemed May 8th Avery Kate Day. Mark your calendars!

-They really do grow so fast

New Look

It was time for a new look here at WBT what with the arrival of Avery, summer weather...and that purple was just ugly. Not much to report. Rob is going to Ft Gibson tonight for work. The first time I'll be alone overnight with Avery. Hopefully she sleeps well! A few pictures from today:
