Mimi and I took the kids on a quick overnight trip north to Kansas City. We packed in a lot in two days, starting with Coco Key, an indoor water park.

The kids had a blast. There were plenty of slides, pools, and a lazy river. Avery loved everything and Ben found a few areas where he was comfortable. We couldn't convince him to go down any slides other than the very small yellow one pictured above. I think Avery could have gone nonstop for several more hours but Ben was tired.

After cleaning up at the hotel we wandered around downtown a bit and got some dinner. Ben, as usual, was not into posing for me.

Saturday we were up and headed off to Sea Life and Legoland, with lunch in between at Fritz's Railroad restaurant.

The aquarium was awesome and, we felt, very fairly priced. Ben was ready to move to the next exhibit pretty quickly, otherwise I think the rest of us could have spent more time there. Legoland was pretty cool too, although a little crowded and hectic. It was a nice mix of hands-on areas and actual Lego exhibits. I think Ben's favorite was definitely the Lego car racing area.
Definitely a fun and quick visit up to KC!
