4 oranges |
Last week was four apples. Is an orange really bigger than an apple?
Other comparisons:
Pineapple
Squash
This week your baby is weighing in at around 4 pounds – which means there are only a few more pounds to go! (Yes, it is possible for your belly to get bigger, believe it or not.) Your baby’s lungs are continuing to mature, producing increasing amounts of surfactant, a fatty liquid that lines the inside of the lungs and helps the sacs within expand efficiently for breathing. Your baby is also practicing sucking and swallowing (which fully coordinates between 32 and 34 weeks), but he/she would still need to be fed with a tube if born this week because suckling might not be efficient.
One thing I forgot to mention last week in the post regarding pregnancy differences: my bellybutton! It's kind of sticking out. Never did with Avery. I have to take pictures in Avery's bathroom since I can't get close to the mirror in ours.
We made some progress in the baby room last night. We got all the furniture in place. All of the baby gear stopped in the garage when we moved (had previously been in storage or in the attic) so we moved all of that in and somewhat put it away. I washed the covers for the swing, bouncer, jumperoo, Boppy, play mat, etc. I pulled out all the (approximately) 0-6 months toys and books. It's nowhere near complete but at least we got a little start.
Oh, and that sheet I posted last Friday? The one from Target. It's out of stock now! Of course it is! Buy Buy Baby has a solid yellow, so that will do.
I'm looking forward to getting everything put together over the next several weeks.
